The design: in line with the overall concept
Of course, it’s appearance is the ultimate criterion when choosing gourmet tableware. The design should reflect the philosophy of the restaurant and fit in perfectly with the ambience and furnishings. It is also important to consider the target group in terms of age, lifestyle and taste: do guests prefer modern, minimalist or classic, elegant tableware? The chef's style should also be reflected in the tableware. However, the most important aspect is the food itself: The presentation on the plate should emphasize the individuality of the dishes.
Various gourmet tableware styles
For example, if the style of the house is classic and traditional, white plates with fine decorations or gold rims are a timelessly elegant choice. They embody luxury and sophistication and are in harmony with classic French or international haute cuisine dishes. Made from Noble China, the pieces in the CREATE collection fit perfectly into such an ambience. They feature subtle relief decoration and evoke nostalgic associations without appearing old-fashioned – as do the newly added cups and the two "chef's plates" with an internal relief that delimits the food surfaces. The fusion of the coup and rim shapes on the plates and bowls gives the collection a contemporary touch.
If, on the other hand, you want a modern flair, the coup plates from DELIGHT gourmet tableware are the right choice. Here, the design follows clear, minimalist shapes. This collection is therefore particularly suitable for young, urban restaurant concepts. In line with the "Mix&Match" concept, the CREATE items can be combined with DELIGHT or, for example, bowls and dishes from EATERY to create creative and modern concept solutions.
The ESSENTIALS and SHOWPIECES collections bridge the gap between classic and modern. Both use glossy surfaces in sophisticated alternation with matt surfaces. The sandblasted and therefore matt parts create a timeless, high-quality, effective look and also a tactile experience for the guest. The design underlines the sophisticated impression: in ESSENTIALS, the shapes are sometimes dynamic and sometimes calm and clear. In SHOWPIECES, wave shapes, among other things, provide the proverbial momentum in the food presentation.
The material: soft or hard porcelain?
The attribute "classy" in relation to gourmet tableware should by no means only apply to the design of the plates, bowls and cups, but also to the material: genuine fine tableware for upscale gastronomy should be made of high-quality porcelain, such as bone china or fine china.
Both types of porcelain are a good choice, but there are differences in the material properties: Bone china is slightly more transparent and also offers a wider range of colors. However, it is soft porcelain, which means lower edge impact resistance and a shorter "decor life".
A disadvantage in terms of hygiene: the surfaces are not as abrasion and scratch resistant and therefore not as hygienically clean as hard porcelain surfaces.
The benefits of Noble China as gourmet tableware
Noble China is exposed to higher temperatures during glaze firing, resulting in a completely sealed, hygienic surface. In addition, the material composition is different – the kaolin content is higher – so that it is referred to as "hard porcelain". Noble China impresses with its delicate, creamy BoneWhite color, is resistant to edge chipping and glaze damage and is extremely durable. This and the only marginal, visually barely recognizable differences compared to bone china make it the ideal choice for gourmet tableware.
