Serving food is an essential part of gastronomic competence. This is not least about an appealing and creative presentation with the help of the right tableware. We present creative ideas on how products made of wood, glass, stoneware, and marble can be used as stylish elements when serving. After all, each of these materials brings with it a characteristic aesthetic that is perfect for food serving.

Wood - natural accents on the table

Serving food on wood offers a charming way to add natural accents to the table and present dishes in a surprising and appealing way. The wooden presenters from PLAYGROUND's LOFT collection, available in two different heights and widths, are made of warm walnut or noble oak. In a black wenge look, they exude understated elegance and blend effortlessly into Scandinavian or Asian looks. Playing with wooden presenters in different heights turns the simple table or buffet into an entire tablescape, which is made even more exciting by the creative combination of different wood colors.

The wooden menages from ANANTI are the perfect complement to the presenters. Square, made of walnut or oak, they convince with their high-quality workmanship and their flexible use. Thanks to the modular system, the tray-like cruets can be arranged decoratively with the help of feet of different heights and staggered at different heights. The other items in the collection, e.g. the crumb trays, bowls or platters, can also be used in the ANANTI cruets and are perfect for an unusual food presentation. The combination of LOFT and ANANTI allows for a harmonious overall concept that transforms the set table into an inviting and stylish landscape to complement the various serving food ideas one might have. It should only be noted that serving meat on wood is not recommended, as bacteria can collect in the cutting marks.

Glass - transparency and elegance combined

Serving food on glass sets particularly elegant and extraordinary highlights on the table. One outstanding collection that makes food shine in a special light is AMUSE. A slightly different etagere, the AMUSE Tower is a real high-flyer in the world of food presentation and allows for a creative vertical arrangement of dishes to truly elevate food serving. The modern-elegant Tower is ideal for a culinary quartet, with the transparency of the glass allowing guests to admire the various creations from all angles.

Stoneware - rustic beauty for culinary masterpieces

The TAVOLINI collection from PLAYGROUND also offers a modern, but somewhat more rustic interpretation of the etagere. The simple design language leaves the stage entirely to the dishes and puts them on a pedestal in the truest sense of the word. Stoneware as a material gives the etagères robustness and can be integrated into various gastronomic styles, such as industrial style, country house or vintage locations, thanks to the clear shapes with a rustic look.

The PLAYGROUND collection 2in1 convinces with clear form language, minimalist design and unique functionality to enhance food serving to be an entirely aesthetically pleasing experience. The plates and bowls offer a dual function – flat or deep plate, plate or saucer, bowl or plateau. Usable on both sides with glazed presentation surfaces on top and bottom, the stoneware items are hygienically safe and offer an unusual and surprising way to serve food in a stylish and creative way.

Marble - timeless elegance for sophisticated pleasures

Marble adds a luxurious flair to any table setting. Two products that perfectly embody this natural elegance are PLAYGROUND's marble plateaus available in both white and black; both are marvellous options for creating and serving food ideas. Both colors stand out as a sublime stage for spectacular food presentation. The combination of both versions allows for a fascinating play of contrasts. Food artist Michael Koch shows in our video how to reinterpret a lemon cake and set it perfectly in scene on the marble plateaus.
